London, was and still is, the capital of Britain. It was a major target during all of World War Two. It was constantly bombed during the war, and many families sent their children away to the country-side to be safe during the bombings.
United States of America
The United States of America was a big help in World War 2. It wasn't in the war to begin with, but after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, which was near Honolulu, it joined the Allied Forces. Once the Japanese attacked, the US retaliated against them and also cut off the all trade to Japan. This really hurt the Japanese economy, because 80% of Japan's oil came from America at the time.

Britain and the UK were extremely influential on WW2. They were the ones who declared war on Germany, after Germany attacked Poland unprovoked. They were one of the bigger contributions to the war.
